Gamescom Trailers

I told you there was going to be a lot of news coming from Gamescom and I was right. Most of it being new game trailers. Since it's pretty hard to write what's in a trailer I figured I'll do all the searching for you and post all the good ones here.

Fable III

Dragon Age: Origins

Battlefield Bad Company 2

Mass Effect 2

Need for Speed Shift

Batman Arkham Asylum

Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles

Jak and Daxter The Lost Frontier

Brutal Legend

Heavy Rain

Uncharted 2

There are loads more but those are the good ones. Except for a few small announcements there wasn't anything too surprising announced today. The biggest announcement was that Final Fantasy XIV Online won't be shipped on the 360 at the same time as the PS3 and PC versions. Square Enix producer Hiromichi Tanaka said its because the Xbox Live policy is different from the internet but that they are in discussions with Microsoft on a way to bring it to the 360. Square Enix also announced that Final Fantasy XIII will be shipped on PS3 and 360 at the same time next year. It will be the same in every way except the 360 version will be on three different discs whereas the PS3 version, because of its Blue-ray disc, will only be on one. Another small announcement was from Bethesda, the creators of Fallout 3. They have a new project in the works that they will give more details on at an event in New York for there upcoming game WET. The last bit of surprising news is really a lack of news. What I mean is everyone expected to hear something from Microsoft about a 360 price drop however they haven't mentioned anything about it. This is probably because of the Sony PS3 redesign and price drop announcement that stole the show. Thats all the interesting news hope you enjoyed the trailers, I know I did.

On a side note, Microsoft, Bungie and GameStop have a nationwide promotion going on for their upcoming game Halo 3: ODST. What they are doing is a nationwide tour in a custom built ODST-inspired transport vehicle with eight Xbox 360 consoles and plenty of leg room. They will be going to 22-cities starting in Seattle and ending in New York. They will be letting people get in the transport vehicle to play Halo 3: ODST. Here are all the stops and dates.

Sony News From Gamescom

Most of the news from Gamescom so far is from Sony. The biggest is the confirmation of the rumors about the release of the PS3 Slim. The new PS3 Slim is the same as the original PS3 except its 32% smaller, 36% lighter, uses 34% less power, has a bigger 120GB hard drive and it only costs $299. It's better in every way. A little side note, you can go ahead and buy a PS3 for $299 if you can't wait for the slim to come out the first week in September, but I'd wait. Sony also announced a new firmware update which will change the Xross Media Bar to make it easier to navigate the PlayStation network and game menus. They've also added a small menu to the top right corner that displays the number of friends you have online, the number of messages you have, the date and time, and a scrolling news ticker. They've also made the background image more animated and dynamic . New themes will be the same, with more animation and interactivity. That's pretty much it for the PS3 but not for Sony.

Sony also had some announcements about the PSP Go. If you don't know what the PSP Go is, it's a smaller, redesigned PSP that is focused on down loadable games and will be out on October 1st. Sony introduced PSP Minis which will be a digital store on the PlayStation Network that sells down loadable games that are no larger then 100MB and could cost as little as a $1. Minis will be open the day the PSP Go launches and will have 15 games to start with and 50 games by the end of the year. Other small announcements from Sony are the Digital Comics feature for the PSP, which lets you read comics on your PSP. They also announced a ton of new movies and these aren't as old as the ones we're use to. They are also releasing loads of new game trailers, that are all over the web.

Real quick, it's not Sony news but I just found out about it and had to add it real fast. Lionhead Studios has officially announced Fable III will be coming out around the holidays in 2010. Fable II is one of my favorite games and I can't wait for Fable III but I hope this doesn't mean they are done with down loadable content for Fable II. We shall see. That's all for today but check back tomorrow for more Gamescom updates.

Randy Couture In EA Sports MMA

EA Sports has made it official, Randy Couture will be in the EA Sports MMA video game. There has been talk about this happening for awhile and no one was really sure. Now we know and its a big win for EA because Dana White, UFC president, is extremely against the EA MMA game. It makes sense because THQ released UFC 2009 Undisputed back in May which is the best MMA game to date but could probably be made better. Especially, since EA is not only the largest sports game publisher but the largest video game publisher period. So, Dana White wouldn't want compilation from another MMA game. It's even been said that he's threatened to ban any UFC fighter that participates in the game. So, does this mean that Randy Couture will never fight in the UFC again? Probably not, since Randy Couture is one of the few fighters that controls their likeness rights so he should be able to be in the EA MMA game and still fight in UFC. In fact, he is scheduled to fight Antonio Noguiera at UFC 102 on August 29. So, don't worry you will still see him kicking A** in the UFC ring. The real question is will EA be able to sell an MMA game thats missing some of the most popular MMA fighters or will they be able to talk Dana White into letting the UFC roster be in the game. No one knows but we shall see.

Is This The End Of Gaming?

Everyone is talking about the NPD reports which state that the gaming industry's sells of hardware have fallen 37%. Also, software sells have fallen 26% and accessories have fallen 12%. Some people are looking at this as a bad thing but not me. What is says to me is that most people already have consoles so they aren't buying anymore hardware. As for the software we all know that the summer is the slow season for gaming and the holiday season always brings the best games so we should see a huge rise in software sells. I'm sure Madden 10 has already helped those numbers since the study was done before Madden launched. If I'm wrong, and certainly could be, and these numbers do mean that less people are playing games all that means is those of us that still love them should get out there and buy everything we can afford.

The report also stated the number of sales on all consoles.
They are as follows: NintendoDS-538,900;
Nintendo Wii-252,500; Microsoft Xbox 360-202,900; Sony PSP-122,800; Sony PlayStation 3-121,800; Sony PlayStation 2-108,000. The only real story here is how close the Xbox 360 is to the Wii in sales. These numbers are for the year so far. Many other sources say that the Xbox at this time is outselling the Wii for the first time since 2007. No one is too sure why, but it might have something to do with the Wii not producing a lot of “great” games just good ones. Whereas the Xbox has not only been pumping out loads of good games but have many “great” titles out and many more coming soon.

As I was reading over this post I realized that I put a good deal of my opinion rather then news into this post and I'm sorry for that but it also gave me an idea. I want your opinion on the NPD reports. If you know something interesting about them that I didn't mention or you have something to say about what you read, please feel free to leave a comment. I also got the idea to ask you what's your favorite console and why? Please leave a comment and please visit DailyGamingNews4u again.

All Points Bulletin Beta!

Yesterday I told you about All Points Bulletin and how awesome its going to be and today I found out some really cool news about it. All Points Bulletin's beta will be opening to the public sometime soon. The details have not been announced but they have started taking request from people for access to it. I just finished requesting my access to the All Points Bulletin beta myself. From the questions, it looks like they are looking for people that play online games quite a bit and can devote a decent amount of time testing their game and that sure sound like me. Basically if you don't or can't play games regularly then you shouldn't try to get in to the All Points Bulletin beta. Everyone else try to get in as soon as possible. If your reading this between August 14-20 then you may have a good shot at making it. Any later, you can still try but no guarantees.

Here's what you do, click this link All Points Bulletin beta. Then answer the questions they ask honestly and that's it. Hopefully you will get an e-mail saying you've been accepted. It may not come right away, as I said before the date has not been set.

All Points Bulletin for PS3!

All Points Bulletin!!! everyone should get this game when it comes out. Its an MMO from the creators of Crackdown. I know some of you are saying “MMO” I don't like those, but this one is different from others. The most noticeable difference in APB is that it takes place in a city; based in the real world. It's not a real place but looks like it could be, which is unlike most MMOs. Another difference is, you don't have to play with other players at any point in the game, if you don't want to. Also, its not all about the quest. What I mean is, if you don't feel like playing a real mission you can just run around the city blowing stuff up. If you choose to be a bad guy, you can blow stuff up but you will want to be careful in case someone else out there that chose to be a good guy. He might decide to take you down. That being the biggest difference, everything you do takes place in matchmaking. For example, let's say you want to go on a killing spree, taking out everyone you see. If someone else, sitting on their couch sees you; they can say “I want to save those innocent people” then run up and try to kill you. Sounds pretty awesome right? I'm not sure if it works exactly like that. There could be more to it but the basic idea sounds pretty cool. The release date has not been announced but expect it on the PC sometime in 2010.

The main reason I made this post is because rumor has it that APB is not only going to be on the xbox, which I've known for awhile, but the PS3 too. Its not clear when APB will make it to the consoles but EJ Moreland, Design Lead said that the game will definitely be released on the PC and that they are starting work on porting it to consoles, although no work has been done on any specific console. Its still possible that it won't be ported. However, from the way the game looks and the buzz about it, I am almost certain we will be seeing it on consoles in the near future. Look out for more detailed news about All Points Bulletin.

The HALO Movie is Back

Okay, so this is kind of movie slash video game news but its a big deal so I'll post about it anyway. Its looking like the Halo movie may actually get made after all. So, for those of you that don't know, there was a Halo movie being made by director Neill Blomkamp with executive producer Peter Jackson however Universal and Fox studies pulled out because the movie was pushing its budget of 200 million dollars and Neill Blomkamp has never even made a feature film. But now rumor has it that Steven Spielberg read the script for the movie and instantly wanted to produce it. Its now being said that Spielberg is working out the details with Microsoft. The other cool thing about it is hes not only wants to produce this Halo movie but also the next two Halo movies which he has already read the scripts for. So for everyone that liked the way Neill Blomkamp's preview of his movie looked expect something even better from Spielberg and please join me in telling everyone, THE HALO MOVIE IS BACK!

Video Games For Xbox

Hello and welcome to DailyGamingNews4U. This blog will be updated daily with news from the gaming world. Today, sense its the first day I will be posting three post that will talk about upcoming games from the three major gaming consoles.
I will start with Xbox Games. The first xbox game I can't wait for is Brutal Legend which is set to release on October 13th in North America and October 16th in Europe and will also be available on the PS3. This game is being created by the Double Fine company which is lead by Tim Schafer probably the best game writer alive. Its a third person action game where you play a roadie, voiced by Jack Black so expect it to be hilarious. Tim Schafer said, his idea for this game was what it would be like if you could jump into a heavy metal album cover, so expect lots of blood and guts in this game.
Another xbox game I now I'll be buying is Halo 3 ODST. This is probably going to be the top seller once its released on September 22nd 2009 so its probably no surprise I won't this one. Its yet another game in the Halo universe this one takes you back to before the Master Chief returned to earth in Halo 3. Also you don't play as the Master Chief you play as different ODST or Orbital Drop Shock Trooper which means you won't be as strong so stealth tactics will play a bigger role in this one. But the biggest change bungie, the creators of the Halo universe, made is the semi-open-world gameplay which means you will be able to choose how you go though the game instead of the game developers forcing you to do things in the order they want you to. Those are just a couple of great Xbox games. Heres a few more that will be good Forza Motorsport 3,Shadow Complex, and Modern Warfare 2.

PS3 Games 2009

There's not to many upcoming PS3 games that I'm waiting for that are exclusive to the PS3 except Demon's Souls. Its an action RPG and its online play has many groundbreaking features that have never been seen on console games. The one that interest me the most is the ability to invade another players game and mess things up or him. Theres not a ton of talk about this one but from what I've seen it should be good especially if you like games like God of War it remains me of it. This one comes out October 6th 2009.
This one I'm sure everyone wants and its on every console, Guitar Hero 5. If you don't know what this is then you've been living under a rock but its basically the 5th game by Activison that lets you play the guitar in a band, well thats how it started now they they have the drums, bass and vocals as well. Its being released on September 1st 2009. The coolest thing about this game isn't the new playlist, even though thats pretty cool too, its the addition of the create your own song feature and how easy it is to create awesome songs. This years Guitar Hero will probably go down as the best one. Oh, and by the way everyone Guitar Hero is way better then Rock Band but I'll save that for another post. Heres a few more great upcoming PS3 games Uncharted 2, Madden NFL 10, and Mafia II

Upcoming Wii Games

The Wii is the most sold console to date probably because everyone in the family can find something they like here. I am personally waiting for the upcoming Wii game Dead Space: Extraction which is a prequel to one of the biggest games in 2008 Dead Space. Dead Space: Extraction comes out on September 28th 2009 and was designed exclusively for the Wii. This looks like it will be one of the best FPS to ever come out on the Wii. It will also have all new characters, enemies, weapons, puzzles and co-operative multiplayer.
I'm also looking forward to DJ Hero this one is on all consoles but I had to talk about it. This game is going to be as big if not bigger then guitar hero and is coming out on October 27th 2009. This game will have 100 songs that can be mix together in pretty much infinite ways. So basically not only do you have 100 songs from all different genres to play though but you can then take those songs and create your own songs then play them or watch your friends try whatever. Theres just nothing bad there and I hear it can be very challenging too. A few more upcoming Wii games to look for are Metroid Prime Trilogy, Spore Hero, and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.
Thats it for Day 1 from this point on I will post gaming news daily. These post will be about anything having to do with gaming not just games like the past three so comeback and see whats new in gaming from an average gamers points of view. See you tomorrow.
